A second floor of the two storey building of a self owned property at Yelachenahalli,
Bangalore was gifted to my wife by her father in the year 2014. Post retirement, I shifted to
this house in the year 2009 with my family. The floor consisted of two flats of 2 BHK which
was converted to a single flat with 4 bed rooms, a kitchen and two halls. Both the halls were
combined by providing a 4 feet opening in the bifurcating wall for the two flats. Two slits were
also provided as open windows between the two halls to give the feel of a single hall.
However, we vacated the premises in the year 2021 after demise of my father-in-law.
The flat required heavy maintenance with repair works for bathrooms and remodelling for
conversion to two flats again to reinstate the property to its original composition. I had a plan
for the work which I designed myself on some old drawings available with me to ascertain
what I required. This naturally involves financial inputs to cover the cost of the work to be
carried out.
To know the financial implications to carry out the work was the initial challenge to find the
person who would give me a near to exact picture of the money required. This, itself is one of
the important aspect with finding the right person who could take the challenge.
Generally, we look for locally available engineers who carry out construction work in the
locality. It was worth giving a try to know if anyone could give me the kind of cost that could
be involved. When the trial failed, the first person I could think of was Shri H V Ramesh.
I had met Shri Ramesh while working for a firm of Financial Services and Advisors where I
had joined and was assigned project management. Shri Ramesh is a client of the firm for
financial services. I happened to visit his office with my colleagues at the time providing
training for software for his firm, R V Constructions, for client management. We had met on
several occasions in our office between year 2014 and 2016 after which I finally settled for a
retired life.
I contacted Shri Ramesh on phone after a lapse of almost six years. The most surprising
moment for me was his voice recognition capability which filled me with positive vibes. After
an exchange of addresses, email Ids and location of work, we had a meeting at the work site
within a week, exchanged views on the work to be carried out and discussed on financial
arrangements post receipt of works estimate. The estimated time frame was 6 weeks and the
work was completed in 6.5 weeks. Well aware of the constraint in carrying out the work due
to availability of labour and craftsmen right from the estimating stage, my estimate was
around 8 weeks considering the hurdles to be faced while executing the work.
However, the work was successfully completed within the time frame by Shri Ramesh and his
team. The work was beautifully executed, crossing all hurdles with zeal and complete
confidence. I also kept smooth inflow of finance required to retain his confidence in me which
would otherwise hinder execution of work.
With the successful outcome of what was planned, he has done a commendable job. This
devotion towards his work calls for first hand recommendations wherever the requirement
arises.
